HEBREW CURRICULUM

JUDAICA CURRICULUM

Prek – Kindergarten

A child’s first taste of Hebrew school is filled with games, crafts, songs and laughter as we explore the basic Mitzvot with our popular
“Mitzvot I Can Do” program.
Each child will bring home an adorable “Mitzvot I Can Do” book.

First Grade – Kitah Aleph

Our 1st graders learn how a Torah is made, and experience the timeless stories of the first book of the Torah, Bereishit / Genesis. Through drama, art, and cooking, these stories come alive. Each child will create a “Torah Scroll”, a lasting gift to treasure.

Second Grade – Kitah Bet

Our 2nd graders delve into the 2nd book of the Torah, the book of Shemot / Exodus. They explore the early days of our people and internalize their learning with games, crafts, and lots of creativity. Each child will create a unique and special photo book of their Torah experience.

3rd Grade – Kitah Gimmel

Our 3rd graders explore a typical house and discover how to turn it into a Jewish home. Each room is filled with Mitzvot, lessons, hands-on discovery, excitement, art and STEM activities.

Fourth Grade – Kitah Dalet

Our 4th graders embark on our “Israel Quest” curriculum. They adventure through the holy land and “meet” many of the Jewish Heroes throughout our history. They explore the rich history of Israel and the lessons come to life.

Fifth Grade – Kitah Hay

Our 5th graders will take our interactive “Jewish Lifecycles” curriculum and travel through the Jewish milestones, from birth through the afterlife. Accompanied by hands-on ceremonies and rituals, our students will gain a rich appreciation for and an understanding of each stage and age of Jewish life.

Sixth Grade – Kitah Vav

Our 6th graders will take our interactive “Jewish Lifecycles” curriculum and travel through the Jewish milestones, from birth through the afterlife. Accompanied by hands-on ceremonies and rituals, our students will gain a rich appreciation for and an understanding of each stage and age of Jewish life.

Seventh Grade – Kitah Zayin

Our 7th grade students will study with Rabbi Raleigh Resnick and explore basic questions and the foundation of Jewish identity. Study combined with breakfast making, exciting outings and guest speakers, this will be an unforgettable “out of the box” culminating Hebrew School year.

In addition, our 7th graders will join the “My Family Story” project. An educational initiative run by the Beit Hatfutsot Museum in Israel. Through a yearlong curriculum, students embark on a fun and meaningful Jewish heritage project. The project culminates in a final art display illustrating each student’s personal exploration into their family roots and connection to the Jewish people.
